Jewel case for the Viennese cab-horse ball 21. February 1912.

Vienna, 1912. 7 : 4,5 : 4,5 cm. Ornamented gilt casket with photograph on upper lid.

At the turn of the 20th century it was the custom at the ball's to give a small present to the woman who were attending the ball. During the first two month of the year there were many celebration of ball, dancing events for almost all professions, from craftsman, to doctors, teachers, academics and of course the court. In all of those cases a smaller or bigger present was given.
